Sensory Hike (Kindergarten through 5th Grade)
Let's use our senses to explore the world around us! Feel the autumn chill in the air, the roughness of tree bark, the soft seeds of fall, the squishy mud after an autumn rain. Listen for wind in the branches and leaves, birds singing, water flowing. Look for buds on twigs, animal tracks in the mud, and maybe even a few squirrels.
Come dressed for an hour hike around a local park to use our senses to experience nature! We will look for colors, shapes, animals, plants, and more during this hour long program. Each student will make a sound and color map, so bring along a notebook and drawing materials (colored pencils, crayons, etc.). Some materials will be provided.
Date: Thursday, October 1st, 2015
Time: 2:00pm to 3:00pm
Location: Environmental Nature Area, Brooklyn Park map
Cost: $10/student
