Wildflower Botany Kindergarten through Grade 6 CANCELLED
Spring is here! Wildflowers are blooming in the woods! How many different types can we find? Come along for a hike at Wood-Rill Scientific and Natural Area to look for wildflowers blooming on the forest floor. We will explore flower geometry, learn how to use field guides to identify flowers, and learn how the flowers have adapted to springtime in Minnesota. Bring along a field journal to sketch these lovely blooms (colored pencils will be provided) and/or bring a camera to capture the beauty of spring!
During this two hour program we will hike, draw, photograph, identify, and learn basic botany principles. We will cover monocots and dicots, leaf and flower structure, and pollinators too. Wear sturdy shoes for hiking and getting dirty on potentially muddy trails.
